MessageLabs Email Anti-Spam Service (stage 1)

As the first line of defence, we deploy MessageLabs Skeptic™ Technology Traffic Management and Connection Management, which is part of a multi-layered spam defence system that ensures long-term, always-on network protection, which has a five-star rating from VeriTest, an independent anti-spam benchmarking, with over 99% spam capture and zero false positives.

Traffic Management slows down spam at the TCP/IP layer, whilst MessageLabs Connection Management blocks unsolicitied email from known and unknown sources at the connection layer and prevents attacks at the user management layer, using Skeptic™ predictive technology that learns from each message and analyses the properties, enabling an evolving, updating process in real-time that protects against the latest spam techniques while providing near-perfect accuracy to virtually eliminate false positives.

Integrated into the services is MessageLabs Spam Quarantine filter.

Inbound and outbound email is directed via MessageLabs, where it is scanned. Skeptic™ provides a vital layer of security, identifying and stopping new or unknown threats. Email containing malware is blocked and quarantined for 30 days, and the recipient is notified.

Skeptic™ predictive technology proactively monitors, tracks and protects against emergining malware threats before they compromise the network. the 'Link Following' capability, checks all web pages referenced within an email for viruses and other malware.

If a suspicious link is identified, a signature is created and further emails containing that link are treated as infected and any emails containing the viral link are quarantined.

The spam quarantine is fully configurable and allows administrators to set and enforce or devolve flexible, customised policies for organisational requirements.

MessageLabs Email Gateway Anti-Virus Service (stage 2)

Our second line of defence is MessageLabs Anti-Virus Service that provides 100% protection from viruses, phishing, trojans and other forms of malware.

MessageLabs scans over 1.5 billion emails a week, the intelligence gathered provides unrivalled protection from emerging threats.

Microsoft Forefront (stage 3)

The back-end Anti-Virus Service is provided by Microsoft Forefront for Exchange 2007, that offers another layer of security.

You get maximum protection as the multiple anti-virus engines (updatable software components) scan all e-mails.
